Jerry O’Doherty has been with Seim Johnson for over 20 years and currently is the Managing Partner at the Firm. Prior to Seim Johnson, Jerry spent nearly five years at an international public accounting firm. Jerry has extensive experience in identifying client needs, coordinating service plans and delivering on promises in a timely fashion. As a provider of accounting, financial and consulting services, Jerry understands the need to communicate the technical aspects as well as the “what’s in it for me” components to our clients. Jerry is a CPA & CGMA and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Jerry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also active in civic and social organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors and Past President of Millard Rotary, Finance Steering Committee of St. Pius X/St. Leo School, Board member of the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands, Trustee of Business Ethics Alliance, member of Knights of Columbus, member of the AICPA Not-for-Profit Section and coaching numerous youth sports teams.

Do you sing in the car?
If I am looking to create any type of discomfort for passengers, my vocal chords would be excellent tools for delivering such irritation.

What is the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Fried Alligator. Second strangest is something I am craving right now – fried oyster on top of deviled egg.

What is one of your favorite quotes?
“If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way; if you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.”

Who’s someone you admire and why?
Jesus Christ. Anyone who agreed to be tortured like He was for people who didn’t and still don’t believe in Him, disliked or currently do not care for Him, may never know Him, all in the name of love should be admired in my book.

Tell me three pet peeves.
– Being late.
– Rudely interrupting.
– Always having excuses.

What are you most passionate about?
Coaching (because it gets me more time with my kids).

If you were stranded on a tropical island what two things would you want with you?
Disneyland (the entire thing – which of course, includes its staff) and a 400 ft. yacht. Why not have a great experience with people who know how to provide you exceptional service on an island and then be able to leave the island if you wanted to?
