In 2022, Rick joined the Seim Johnson team, bringing with him more than four decades of experience. As a manager in the firm’s Tax Department, Rick performs tax preparation and tax review services. He is considered a “tax generalist” because he excels at working with clients in a wide array of industries rather than specializing in just one sector. A graduate of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, Rick has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is currently affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants (NSCPA). Originally from Sidney, Nebraska, Rick currently lives in Omaha with his wife of 50 years, Kay, and their dog, Lucy. They have three adult sons and eight grandchildren.

What is the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Blood sausage. My grandma made the best.

What is your greatest fear?
Losing a child to an accident or health related matter.

What can you be found doing outside of the office?
Watching my son play basketball or baseball games and my daughter ride horses at HETRA.

Who’s someone you admire and why?
My wife, Jenn – she has been a rock in handling all the family activities and situations.

Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Professional baseball player.

One thing you would love to do if you had the chance?
See the Chicago Cubs in the World Series at Wrigley Field. I could not make it there when they won in 2016, but I will always remember where I was when I watched them win it.
